For more than 40 years, Mr. Satterlee has been a practicing attorney in Northwest Indiana. In addition to writing numerous employee handbooks and preparing contract language for collective bargaining agreements, he represents a number of school corporations and conducts labor negotiations in the public sector. As a trial attorney, Mr. Satterlee represents corporations and insurance companies using his litigation experience to not only try cases in court and before governmental agencies, but also to negotiate prior to litigation. He is also a Certified Civil Mediator and Arbitrator, as well as a Registered Mortgage Foreclosure Mediator.

Over the years, Mr. Satterlee has been active and still maintains memberships in many law related organizations. One such activity is supporting and actively recruiting new members for the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL). In 2001, he was honored by NAWL at the annual American Bar Association meeting, where he received the Toch Membership Award for his work to promote the organization and recruit members and is the only male to ever receive the award. Similarly, under his leadership Hoeppner Wagner & Evans received recognition from the Indiana State Bar Association in 2000 for furthering the career advancement of minority lawyers, an award bestowed by the Opportunities for Minorities Committee. Mr. Satterlee currently serves on the Portage Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also represents Hoeppner Wagner & Evans LLP as a member of the Northwest Indiana Business Roundtable. Mr. Satterlee also serves on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Continuing Legal Education forum and is on the Board of Directors for the Gary Literacy Coalition.
