Lee Lane is an associate in the Corporate and Real Estate and Land Use practice segments. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Lee was a Warrant Officer in the Illinois National Guard where she served as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot and received an air medal for completing nearly 600 hours of combat flight in Iraq..
Lee Lane has more than 11 years of experience in the real estate industry. Having worked as a realtor for 7 years and practicing in the firm's Real Estate and Land Use segment, Lee has developed significant expertise in commercial and residential real estate transactions and the structuring of related corporate and partnership entities. Her practice has involved a wide variety of real estate issues, including development and purchase agreements, land contracts, options, lot take down agreements, easements, declarations of covenants and restrictions, sewer extension and utility recapture agreements, residential and commercial construction agreements, and lease agreements.
Lee has also represented corporate clients when entering into franchise agreements and negotiating asset sale agreements, stock purchase agreements and service agreements. She has provided advice and counsel in strategic planning and settlements involving shareholder disputes.
Additionally, Lee has represented clients before various municipal boards involving zone changes, development and use variances, conversion of existing buildings, minor subdivision approval, and vacation of public rights-of-way; and has also represented municipalities in Lake, Starke and Jasper counties. In connection with her real estate practice, Lee Lane has also represented clients in litigation, arbitration and mediation involving construction and contract disputes, quiet title and foreclosure actions, as well as tax sales.
